From Diagnosis to NED: My Resilient Path Through Multiple Myeloma

Hearing the words “No Evidence of Disease” was one of the most powerful moments of my life. When I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in February 2022, everything I knew as a professional athlete was suddenly shaken. This cancer affects plasma cells and the immune system, and the reality of it was overwhelming. But I chose to meet it with the same discipline, courage, and mental strength that shaped my athletic career.

My background as a counseling psychologist and my degree in holistic nutrition became the foundation of my healing. I approached recovery as a fully integrated process—supporting my immune system, strengthening my mindset, and building daily practices rooted in resilience. I learned how to listen to my body, honour its needs, and trust its capacity to heal. That combination of evidence‑based strategies and unwavering belief carried me to NED.

I recently shared my story on the Believe Big podcast with Ivelisse Page, opening up about the tools, mindset shifts, and holistic practices that helped me navigate this journey. Whether you’re facing cancer or simply trying to improve your quality of life, I hope my experience reminds you that resilience is something you can build—one intentional step at a time.
