My Cancer Experience

It began in 2022, shortly after competing in a WBFF World Pro Show in Las Vegas. I felt strong—no signs of a chronic illness. After 30 years as a competitive athlete and a leader in health, fitness, and nutrition, cancer was the last thing on my mind. I was doing everything “right.”

Fortunately, I had an established team of integrative practitioners monitoring my health from competition. Upon returning home, routine bloodwork with my endocrinologist revealed anemia. We attempted to correct it with supplements and rest, but nothing changed. Over two months of monitoring, I began experiencing severe rib and back pain.

At first, I assumed it was a training injury. During an intense leg workout on the hack machine, I collapsed in pain, unknowingly compressing my T9 vertebra by 40%. I treated it as a typical injury and pursued multiple therapies, attempting to rehabilitate myself—but nothing worked. The pain became so severe I could barely walk. I had broken my spine.

Soon after, I developed unusual shortness of breath, followed by a persistent sinus infection and severe nosebleeds that lasted six months. At that point, I knew something was deeply wrong—but I never expected cancer.

On February 14, 2022, after returning home from a Valentine’s Day spa with my husband, I received the call that changed everything:
“You have cancer—Multiple Myeloma.”

There are no words to fully capture the shock, grief, anger, and disbelief. I collapsed, overwhelmed by the weight of what lay ahead. That evening, I chose to face it. Alone in my room, I stood in front of the mirror, turned the music up loud, and made a decision—I would accept this CHALLENGE. I spoke to my cells, my, body and my inner child and made a promise: I would use everything I know to heal. This diagnosis would not define or take my life. This was not my story.

Within seven days, I built an integrative supplement protocol and assembled a integrative oncology team to support me through treatment. Over eight months, I completed 26 weeks of chemotherapy and an autologous stem cell transplant—with no significant side effects, infections, or complications. My labs remained optimally, and I continued  strength training throughout both chemo and the stem cell transplant.

I was discharged early due to my strength and recovery. Even my medical team could not fully understand I moved through treatment so seamlessly.

As of February 14, 2023, I am in complete clinical remission and thriving. But really I was healed.

Today, it is my mission to support others navigating their cancering process. I teach that non-toxic, evidence-informed metabolic can improve quality of life, reduce side effects, lower toxicity, minimize drug resistance, and support better outcomes and heal cancer full.

To learn exactly what I did, explore my Survival Guide, where I share my full integrative protocol and supplement strategy.
